Why I Went
I actually checked this park out by myself first. From the photos, it looked like it was geared more toward older kids (5–12), and I wanted to confirm before bringing my younger 3. Since my kids aren’t big on bugs and this park sits near trees, it felt like one of those “better check it alone” situations. Sometimes my kids are with me, and sometimes I scout spots solo.
What I Loved
Lots of open space to run around, so even if my little ones couldn’t use the full structure, they’d still have room to play
A few toddler-friendly touches: the squirrel rocker toy, swings, and musical features could all work for younger kids with some help
The zip lines (two of them!) look like so much fun for the 5–12 age group. There’s even a ramp leading up to them
A Harmony Garden with musical instruments gives the park a unique feel
Shaded in the evening (5 PM) and probably mornings too, which makes it a comfortable playtime
The outdoor fireplace and pavilion area felt like neat extras
Things to Know Before You Go
The playground is best suited for ages 5–12. If you bring younger kids, expect to be hands-on
The park is not gated
Shade depends on time of day, great in the evening and mornings, but likely sunny midday
Pavilion has seating, grills, and visibility of the playground, though it’s not super close
Green stairs lead to a nature trail (worth noting for adventurous kids)
No basketball or tennis courts here, just the play area, pavilion, walking path, and trail
Parking is easy, with two lots: one right by the pavilion (handicap accessible) and another a bit uphill from the playground view
Not very buggy when I went, which was a nice surprise
The road nearby wasn’t busy, and the park felt fairly quiet and safe with some surveillance by the pavilion
Mom Tips
Bring soccer balls or outdoor toys; the open space is perfect for them
A stroller might help with younger kids, especially if you want to walk the paved loop
Zip lines could be a hit with bigger kids, but younger ones will need lots of supervision
Plan for a shorter stay unless you’re also using the pavilion for a picnic or gathering
Fairville Park is clean, well-kept, and a good choice for older kids who love climbing and zip lines. For my younger ones, it would be more of a supervised, “let’s try a couple of things and then run around” type of outing. I’d probably bring my older two here at some point just to test it out, but it wouldn’t be my main go-to. Still, I like that it offers nature, music, and space all in one place.
